DIVINE DIVA INTERVIEW WITH MARIA PROVENZANO DAVIS 

When you were starting out in your career how did you know you were making the right choice as far as pursuing that career for yourself?  

I knew I was doing the right thing when I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else and it was on my mind every second of every day. I live and breathe for my work because I believe it has purpose! 

Who were your biggest influences growing up?  

My mom and dad were and are the biggest influences in my life, and also my Grandpa Provenzano. They are all hardworking, kind-hearted, family oriented people! 

When you faced obstacles or fears along the way how did you overcome them, and move beyond them?

I had a lot of support from my family! They were always a sounding board for me. I always knew that I was safe and had them to support me no matter what. Also, I have very strong faith. I have an unwavering relationship with God and my beliefs, and when I have gone through my most difficult times I felt that connection strengthen. 

What or who inspires you and why? 

I am inspired by people! It is my mission in life to show people the value of their own creativity. I am a true believer in the power of making something From Scratch. There is just something so special and rewarding about making things with your own two hands. 

If you could go back in time and change anything about your life would you change anything? If so what would you change and why? 

I believe that everything in the past has happened for a purpose, but I would love to go back in time and tell myself younger self to have more confidence. I think it is normal for any person to struggle with that in adolescents and I think of all the time I wasted caring what people thought who really didn't matter. I have learned so much though having gone through it! 

What do you feel is your greatest achievement? 

Career wise, hands down my dream job on Hallmark Channel's Home and Family Show. I am so proud to be a part of something that is not only a legacy but a legacy with a heart. Hallmark is truly something spectacular that I hope to be a part of it for the rest of my life! My greatest achievement in my personal life is my family. I thank God every day that I married a good man and that we have two healthy and happy children. I don't think you can really ask for much more than that! 

What are the most important lessons you have learned along the way? 

I have learned about perseverance. That no matter what, you persevere. It is amazing what humans can overcome through pain and loss. If you trust and persevere then you can achieve. I also believe in purpose. I think that when you find purpose in life that is bigger than yourself, then you find true happiness. 

What do you hope others will remember most about you and your life? 

I hope that I make people smile! I hope that I can add even an ounce of happiness to someone's day. I find so much happiness in what I do and I hope that people can find happiness in it as well. 

What is the best advice you would give other women who are not sure what path to choose in their life? 

Trust your intuition! That's God steering you down the right path to your purpose, and when you find that, you will know your path. 

What does success mean to you? 

Success means happiness and purpose. Find what makes you happy, and do more of that! Purpose is the reason we live. What is it that you can do to add value to the world? What is it that you do that is outside of yourself? When you find your purpose, you will find your own success!
